Lucknow: Ramesh Chandra Yadav, the district malaria officer of Unnao, was apprehended by the vigilance establishment for accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000. The incident occurred on Monday when Yadav was caught red-handed at his office. The bribe was allegedly demanded from KK Gupta, a biologist in the filariasis control unit, in exchange for approving his medical leave. Upon receiving Gupta's written complaint, the senior superintendent of police and the UP vigilance establishment confirmed Yadav's misconduct. During their operation at the district malaria office in Unnao, the vigilance team successfully recovered the bribe money from Yadav. A case has been filed against Yadav under pertinent sections at the UP vigilance station in Lucknow, where legal action is underway.
